Well... There are some high-tech (& expensive) hand controls for manual transmission cars that our Mobility Equipment specialists could recommend!
Can you do a Suburban
Hi red Rum. It depends on the year, make, and model of the vehicle and chair, but it is likely an Evo Turny Seat can be added along with a lift in the rear... Is that what you're looking for?

Where can I but the strap and hook part for my wheelchair
Hi Alex. Your local mobility dealer should be able to get a replacement strap and hook for your Bruno Out-Rider. If you're near Atlanta or Houston, call our Equipment department.
Seems to take up a lot of room and that's without the mobility aid.
Hi Dino_sore. They do fill most of the third row or cargo area of a minivan or SUV, but are very useful for folks who have some personal mobility and can transfer! If this application wouldn't work for you, there are alternatives like a Platform Carrier, which is an external chair carrier attached to your vehicle's trailer hitch...
What is the cost. I am a Disabled Vet and just bought a 2018 Dodge Tradesman Truck so i can still go camping needing a good price.
Hello and thank you. If you're near Atlanta please give us a call at the "Equipment" # above and we can determine price & installation. If you're out-of-state please call Adapt Solutions to find the nearest dealer.
What is this seat worth
I'm not paying for $20,000 for a wheelchair ramp though
Hi DBB. The prices you see on our inventory webpages are for the wheelchair van -- that's lowered-floor conversion for a comfortable ride + safety tie-down points, + ramp, + minivan.
You're right about lack of affordability with wheelchair accessible vehicles
Hi @@terrylounge. AMS Vans currently has about 3 dozen wheelchair vans under $30K, including 11 under $20K. We accept trade-ins and offer financing. We also have a For Sale By Owner Classifieds section of our website with some more choices at a broad range of prices.
This is just what I'm looking for. Can you convert any truck or is it only certain models? I currently own a 2014 Toyota Tacoma with an Aero cap. I'm a disabled combat veteran eligible for the vehicle grant.
Hello and thank you for asking. I have forwarded your question and will get you an answer!
"Yes we can do different trucks depending on the size of the wheelchair, truck and space -- you would need to get with your local Bruno dealer [if you're not near AMS Vans Atlanta or Houston] to discuss your particular needs further." And thank you for your service.
Cuando hay apoyo económico todo es posible, pero para los de bajo recursos jum
Need prices.....
Hi Laura. Are you interested in this particular hand controls system?
Now that’s just awesome
I've been driving converted vehicles for 30 years & never seen tracking placed across the vehicle, always front to back, I presume this method has been thoroughly tested? I also noted that all your connections to this chair went around the centre post, again, I have never seen this. All transport suitable chairs have a small picture of a hook on each point showing the most suitable place to attach restraints, these have generally been around where the wheels connect on this type of chair. And with the Ricon lift, I've never come across one with a belt attached to the handles, I've always assumed the rear flap was enough to prevent a chair from rolling off backwards. BTW, that 'skid' under the lift that allows the anti roll off flap to lower. It's great on smooth surfaces but in the real world, you rarely get a smooth surface to drop the lift onto & Ricon actually provide rollers which attach to the 'skid'. - it is simply a small wheel, the axle slots into a P shaped piece of metal which is bolted to the mechanism. The roller prevents the skid fouling on uneven surfaces - I had a skid dig into some tarmac on a hot day! Also worth noting with the Ricon lift, they use a couple of extended S shaped rods to act as springs to enable to rear flap to lift. They are very cheap to buy - because they break on a regular basis, we used to buy them in and I'd carry a couple on the vehicle (if an inspector stopped me, the vehicle could be taken off the road if that flap didn't work correctly), just something worth noting. All that being said, I've always preferred the Ricon lifts. It can be a bit 'clattery' having an onboard lift (but often a bit of pipe laggiing sorted that!). Some of the vehicles I've driven have used a lift in a cartridge slung underneath (so no spare wheel!). These get covered in crap off the roads and, in the depths of winter, the lifts often froze up. I really do like the idea of the interlock so that the vehicle can't move when the door is open or the lift deployed. Nearest I've ever got to that was an Iveco, if the side door wasn't shut properly, the engine would cut out as soon as the handbrake was dropped. All well and good but the way the bodywork flexes and the poor state of our roads, the engine would sometimes cut out when I was driving along (even did it once at 50mph!)
Hi OT, thanks! Yes, we carry power chairs with the 4 hook points and also power chairs with the single post like the one in the video. And a transit hook is a feature that can be added at the time you purchase your power chair. The rollers you mention come on the 1,000 lbs. capacity residential lift, but we sell and install the 800 lbs. capacity commercial lifts in our Transit & Sprinter conversions.
How much does this installed cost ?
Hi. These GT2s installed cost around $5,000 but please note the price varies with the type of car they're being installed into. (Ease of integration differs.)
Will this work in the 2nd row seat.
Hi, Marc. Turning Seats can replace 2nd row seats in some vehicles, too. A mobility equipment consultant can let you know if your particular vehicle can support a Turning Seat -- give ours a call if you like! 866-951-8267
Will this work in an older car like a 66 dodge charger ?
Hi Rob. This particular set of hand controls -- probably no, because of the modern electronic interface with the accelerator. However, we HAVE installed a different, all-mechanical set of MPS hand controls in a beautiful 1972 Cadillac Sedan de Ville (and other classics)... In a '66 Charger is an idea worth exploring! :) Our Mobility Equipment team would be happy to talk with you if you'd like to call. facebook.com/amsvans/posts/10153781122522104
How much do they cost in louisville ky
Hi Karen. Prices vary state-to-state and dealer-to-dealer! Please contact your local mobility equipment specialist for pricing. And they could also determine if the brake application can be separated out.
can i just have the brake control put on
I would like to know the same thing
Hi @@danielthomas3333 . Some hand control packages can be separated out. It's up to the driver evaluator if that should happen. Many mobility equipment installers -- including AMS Vans -- require the driver's certification.
You service in Miami FL ?

how much it will cost to buy India and is it possible?
You would need a local mobility equipment dealer to sell and install these for you, to ensure the proper fit!
@@AMSVans Thanks and can automatic vehicle be suitable to drive by people like us in uphill place like darjeeling?
Hello, @@worldinshorts7934 . In an environment with steep hills, you'll most likely want a hand controls system that interfaces with the gas (accelerator) electronically. This should allow for maximum response with minimum upper-body and arm/hand effort. Whatever your certified rehab specialist suggests!
@@AMSVans can u suggest me good hand control system for me
@@worldinshorts7934 it depends entirely on your specific needs! A local mobility equipment specialist would need to evaluate you -- your capability, dexterity, etc. There is also consideration if another driver will be using the vehicle. (If they would need to switch to original pedals.) I don't know what might be available in India, in your state or territory...
This is good video but how I install in my car i was purchase this last month but in box there is no any user manual can you tell me how I install this
Hi, Junaid Jatoi. Is there a professional mobility equipment dealer near you who can install these hand controls? Also, here in Georgia we require the customer to complete a certification for driving with hand controls...

Hi, I just bought a Toyota sienna that has one installed in the second row passenger side, the seller also gave me the original seat as well. I do not need this seat and wanted to know if there was a tech sheet as to how to remove and what wires to cap off or splice back into the regular system wiring if any. Thanks
Hi Craig. You want to remove that Turning Seat a put the original back, yes?
Yes, that is correct
It might even be the Toyota Access Seat , but the paperwork the seller gave me shows a turning brochure and a TAS-5000 or 52000 ? not sure going off memory right now.
@@livinglifemyway7349 Gotcha. Hmm. If the seller had it done by us and you're near Atlanta or Houston, you could bring it back. If not, then either your local mobility equipment dealer could uninstall the seat, or if it was done by Toyota's Accessibility Dept. then perhaps a local dealership could do it for you? www.toyota.com/support/accessibility Call ahead for any of these options, there may be a labor charge. (Seems like, per Bruno/dealer agreement, there are no DIY instructions.)
Thanks , I will check with the seller and see where he had it installed.

I wish I had a van like this one for my electric wheelchair. I LOVE THE RAMPS but NOT THE LIFTS, lifts SCARE the hell out of me.... and I hate that MOST of the vans that have LOW WINDOWS AND A LOW ROOF, see the thing is that my electric wheelchair is high and when I look out the windows, most what I see is the ground, and sometimes I touch the roof with my head and that is wrong, you know? and MOST of the times they would put some kind of the logos on the windows, making me feel like as if I am in some cage...... I wish that they WOULD BUILD A SPECIAL VANS for the wheelchair people.....I have been paralyzed for 9 years now and finally I get CCT program in a Philadelphia to give me a ride any of the trips just for $8 dollars from Philadelphia, but their system is sooooo bad because to get you back it may take them 5 or 7 hours before they will pick you up, and that's is soo bad for me because I don't want my bottom to break down again, you know? and I DON'T want to sit somewhere in my chair for 7 hours and wait for them to come to pick me up.... and I have to come back to my nursing home in time. I have talked to so many of the people and all of them say the same thing that the CCT won't pick them up in time..I get only $45 dollars a month from my nursing home, and the rest the nursing home takes it I believe. so, where can I go? and even here in the nursing home they have a yard where most of the people are SMOKING the cigarettes, and I DON'T like that at all because of I DON'T SMOKE....I wish somebody would buy me a wheelchar van even if it's old and used. may GOD bless you all....
I believe that this van is still not comfortable to ride for me because the windows and a roof is NOT high enough for my higher electric wheelchair, they still SHOULD LOWER THE FLOOR because I HATE touching the roof with my head, and I hate to look out the windows, and all I could see is the FLOOR of the ground....I wish that someone will buy me any kind of the vans perhaps the used one. and may GOD bless you all.
I wish I had one of these vans, I love riding this kind of vans with a RAMPS. I love when sometimes they have a seat NEXT to you on one side and something else on the other side so IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FLIP ON THE SIDES, and therefore I am NOT scared to ride a van like that. but those other vans with a LIFT that usually lift you up like 3 feet up is really scary for me, I don't like them. but what is still wrong with this vans is the WINDOWS, I HATE that they are WAY TO LOW for me because my wheelchair is much higher than a normal non-electric wheelchairs, and so I CAN'T SEE MUCH out the windows, and I am touching the roof of a van with my head, that's crazy, you know? so I wish that they would build special vans by ADDING A FOOT of the WINDOWS and a ROOF of a van. But I SOOOOO LOVE to ride the vans with a RUMPS, but not with a LIFTS.....I wish that there would be someone out there, who could buy me a van like this one because I don't have one. I live in Philadelphia and I finally got a CCT where the city will give you a ride just for $8 dollars one trip anywhere, but there is a very BIG PROBLEM with their system, imagine, they will get you to where you want to go, and if you tell them, for example, to pick you at 1 one ok lack PM, THEY WILL COME LIKE FIVE 5 OR SEVEN 7 OURS LATER to pick you up, and I have been talking to so many of the people and THEY ALL tell the same thing that the city won't pick them up in time, and that's NO GOOD for me, I am afraid that my buttom WILL break down again, I have to come back to my nursing home in time. I have been paralyzed for 9 nine years now. May GOD bless you all.
I’m looking forward to via
Well there goes my bright ideas 💡
These are Dope I need these
Thanks for the video. Where can I find a car like this and how much is the price? I live in Iraq.
Thank you for watching! The car is a separate purchase from the mobility adaptation. A mobility equipment dealer/installer works with the vehicle you either already own and want to keep (if you've lost the ability to brake/accelerate with your feet), or if you're new to accessible driving or changing vehicles then you would buy the vehicle at your local dealership and have it delivered to the conversion center you've chosen. Here at AMS Vans we require the soon-to-be-driver to have passed a driver-certification course. This adaptation is not one we can do for overseas customers, so you would have to research your area!
The Audi A4 itself is around $49,000 new. For the money a 5 series bmw is a much better buy. I just got a bmw 528 after test driving it and an Audi both.
Could you put something like this on a simi truck
Hi Ellery. Is the semi an automatic transmission?
@@AMSVans yes
That makes an adaptation a little more possible. Are you near Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX? Even if you're not, we could still help you find a mobility equipment dealer / installer...
What do all Those Mods cost? I am thinking in the $30K range if not more.
You are very close. This was one of our most elaborate adaptations!
@@AMSVans Do you know of any grant opportunities? I have found a couple, but my father doesn't qualify. My father needs a seat and lift badly. Sucks that insurance doesn't help at all.
Grant opportunities are out there, it's great you're looking out for your father! We have a list that we've come across -- I admit I haven't checked all the links recently... Some foundations and charities come and go. Here's our page of possibilities: www.amsvans.com/financing-handicap-vans/resources
this step system should be secured below the removable footrest on the wheelchair. in an accident that footrest could come loose allowing the strap to slide down the railing on the chair and create an improper tie down.
This is very informative. I have a friend who has a non medical transport service with full size wheelchair equipped vans, and he's considering minivans for this purpose. For those who think that they are "over exaggerating", you might want to consider the liability that those who do this commercially. It's not worth the risk. All it takes is just ONE person to get injured, and they are ruined.
Where can I get these. I am in India
I'm sorry, we don't ship to India. My search engine is inadequate to look within what's offered there or I would try to find you a mobility equipment business on the continent...
Could you add this to an existing car, say a small suv, and what might be the appx cost?
A good mobility equipment dealer can add the GT2s to almost any type of car. The driver must be certified to drive with hand controls. The GT2 hand controls are higher-end, so with installation they'd cost a few thousand dollars. Standard hand controls usually start around $1,300. If you're local to AMS Vans, please give us a call!
If you have one of these in the drivers side, can you somehow have it converted and moved to the passenger side?
Unfortunately no, not the Valet Plus. The seat and its base could be moved back 1 row to the "midship" area (still on driver's side) however. There are models that would allow you to keep the extension arm and seat in a move to the opposite side of the vehicle, but the base would need to be replaced. If you'd like to learn more, please give our Mobility Equipment department a call -- 866-951-8267
I just love how all these folks demonstrating these wheelchairs - are standing up. 🙄
You're right. We will try to be better about featuring demonstrations with people with disabilities. We don't have a production budget for these, and I'd like to be able to compensate any outsourced on-camera talent for their time and patience. The videos are also usually spur-of-the-moment when someone like Dan (in this video) can take a few minutes to show a product of his. For future wheelchair videos, I will endeavor to employ fair representation!
Hi, I am physical therapist who worked with students with special need in the last 37 years. I would like to learn more about your system to enhance my client's safety while seated in a wheelchair during bus/van transportation. is there a training course in September/ October?although i live in New Jersey, I do not mind to travel to Florida . thank you!
Can this be installed for the back seat of a crew cab?
Hello Jason. Ideally this seat is installed for the driver or the front passenger. I don't think AMS Vans has ever done one for the back seat, but that doesn't mean it can't happen! However there could a support bracket issue for that area of the cab, our Mobility Equipment Manager Dan says, he'd have to take a look...
So, how much does it cost?
Hello. Right now we have the Legend II in stock starting at $33,694 (for a used 2017 with a new accessible conversion)...
About what do these run in Missouri. Like 500 or like 10,000
Hi Janet. These start around $1,300 -- the mobility shops in your area may vary. AMS Vans could install them for you at our Houston or Atlanta facilities, after the vehicle's driver has been certified. (We do fittings before and during, too.)
